RCFEIntel is a free, independent public record of every Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) in California's licensing records -- both licensed facilities and pending applications. The records come straight from the California Department of Social Services, are checked every day, and are never edited for anyone.
RCFEIntel is built and operated by Springdale Solutions, an independent software company founded by Ryan Reams. There is no parent media group, no facility operator, and no placement agency behind the site. Ryan writes the data pipeline, maintains the site, and answers the correction emails personally.
RCFEIntel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the State of California, the Department of Social Services, or the Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD). It republishes the state's public records; it does not create, inspect, license, or rate facilities.
California publishes a detailed licensing record for each RCFE: license status, capacity, the named administrator and licensee, inspection and complaint visit counts, citation counts, and individual complaint outcomes. That record is public, but it lives behind a search form that answers one facility at a time and keeps no history.
RCFEIntel collects the full set daily, keeps every prior day, and publishes a stable page per facility plus city and county indexes. Families get the state record without a form or an account. Vendors and agencies who serve senior care get the thing the state never offers: a dated log of what changed.
Two ways, both disclosed on the pages where they apply, and neither one changes what a record says.
Facility operators can claim their profile to add photos and their own description. Operator-supplied content appears in its own section and never alters or hides the state record beneath it.
The full process -- source, fields, daily cadence, change detection, safeguards against bad pulls, and known limitations -- is documented on the methodology page. Every facility page shows the date of the state record it reflects.
If a record looks wrong, email ryan@rcfeintel.com with the facility name and state facility number. We re-pull the state record and reply with what we found. Because RCFEIntel republishes the state's data, a correction to the underlying record has to be made with CCLD; we will tell you how to reach the right district office.
